Retrofitted initiative:
Swimming pool heating system:
- Installation of new water-source heat pumps to replace pool heaters which were in use for the warm water pool.
- Source-side chilled water provided to HVAC system for assisted air cooling to boost system-wide performance and energy efficiency.
Observed benefits other than energy saving:
- Stable supply of warm water to swimming pool.
- Smooth operation of heating system.
- More information for system monitoring and control.
General observations of the retrofitting project:
- Warm water swimming pool was totally unaffected throughout the entire retrofit period.
- Minimal disturbance of approx. 3-4 hours was caused to the HVAC system for the interfacing of water circuits during the retrofit in Autumn.
