  • Air-conditioned with air-cooled central chilled water system, plant operating from 0630 to 2230
  • 6 Screw Type Air-cooled Chiller with 2 having 609A 380V(AC) rating, 320TR Capacity. 4 having 749A 380V(AC) rating, 350TR Capacity.
  • 9 Chilled Water Pump with VSD installed, 30kW rating, 36-43Hz Capacity.
 


Retrofitted initiative:

PlantPRO Al-Based Chiller Plant Optimisation:

PlantPRO is implemented for HVAC analytics and optimization, leveraging existing building management system (BMS) data. It assists clients in conducting continuous retro-commissioning, providing 24/7 monitoring and optimization through Al-based machine learning and control strategies.

PlantPRO enables Al-machine learning to understand chiller performance characteristics using equipment parameters from the manufacturer and real-time data collection. It utilizes this learned performance to select the most efficient combination of equipment, including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and valves, to achieve the lowest overall power consumption while satisfying the cooling load.

Additionally, it can predict future cooling loads, allowing the chiller staging to accommodate and adapt smoothly to future needs.
 
 


Observed benefits other than energy saving:

With the help of artificial intelligence (Al) analytics, the engine of PlantPRO operates a performance feedback loop. This continuous cycling control algorithm instantaneously detects changes in the plant and modifies its actions accordingly through four phases: verify, diagnose, adjust, and measure. It can self-calibrate and maintain the efficiency of the entire system and key components against the desired performance.

Therefore, it automatically detects and diagnoses faults and inefficiencies, enabling early fault detection to minimize efficiency losses and system degradation in the chiller plant. This facilitates efficient plant room management, resulting in reduced downtime, fewer maintenance issues, and an extended asset lifespan.


General observations of the retrofitting project:

It enables automated control of all components and continuously optimizes plant working conditions by promptly adjusting equipment staging and sequencing, resulting in reduced labor for monitoring the chiller plant's performance.

Additionally, it provides a powerful intuitive graphical user interface for visualization of the chiller plant's operating data and performance through a dashboard. It also helps detect faults at an early stage, preventing system failures that could impact the site.
