Description of the building:

Heraeus Technology Centre is a precious metal manufacturing and refinery factory. Offices, laboratory, production areas and warehouses are located inside the building with total area about 6000m2 and 120 employees. |

Retrofitted initiative:
- Converted the air-cooled chiller to high-efficiency Plate-tube evaporative water-cooled chiller.
- Installed the auto-cleaning devices which is physical water treatment and auto-cleaning system for condensers of water-cooled chillers.
- Installed a real time monitoring and control system to optimize the chiller plant operation efficiency.
Observed benefits other than energy saving:
- Real time information and knowing the chiller plant operations
- More information for chiller monitoring and reporting
- Shorten start up time of chiller plant operation
- More environmental friendly as no chemical dosing for water cooling tower
General observations of the retrofitting project:
- HVAC system retrofit have not affected the factory operation
- Easy to installation, just plug and play, shorten retrofitting period and save retrofitting materials as well
- Easy to maintenance and reduce maintenance resources in overall plant operations
- Standard retrofitting initiatives with proven and straightforward technologies
