Application of solar film on curtain wall: Shading coefficient enhancement for building envelope in Hotel Lobby and Hotel rooms with curtain wall facing to west side.
Observed benefits other than energy saving:
- Helps reduce glare and eye discomfort.
- Helps prolong the life and vibrancy in the fabric of furniture and carpets.
- Helps reduce the chance of injury from flying glass.
- High visible light transmission providing excellent aesthetics.
General observations of the retrofitting project:
- Low interior and exterior reflectivity enhances views while maintaining exterior appearance.
- Non-metalized film with no signal interference and no chance for corrosion.
- Helps extend the life of furnishings by significantly reducing harmful UV rays, the largest cause of fading.
