Description of the building:
PHC Wing Kwong College was built over 50 years ago. The school has 6 floors, which include 20 general classrooms, 21 various function rooms, 1 multi-purpose area and 1 school hall.
- The building is air-conditioned with an air-cooled chiller system covering the multi-purpose area, the school hall and 6/F & 7/F school management committee office.
- The other classrooms use split-type air conditioners.

 |
Retrofitted initiative:
Application of solar film on curtain wall: Shading coefficient enhancement for building envelope in 7/F Multi purpose area, 5/F, 2/F Hall, 1/F Multi purpose with curtain wall facing to East side and South side.
Observed benefits other than energy saving:
- Helps reduce glare and eye discomfort.
- Helps prolong the life and vibrancy in the fabric of furniture and carpets.
- Helps reduce the chance of injury from flying glass.
- High visible light transmission providing excellent aesthetics.
General observations of the retrofitting project:
- Low interior and exterior reflectivity enhances views while maintaining exterior appearance.
- Non-metalized film with no signal interference and no chance for corrosion.
- Helps extend the life of furnishings by significantly reducing harmful UV rays, the largest cause of fading.
